Your bow will be rehaired by a trained bow maker and BVMA member who plays the bass. Someone who knows the difference between a bow that grips and sings and one that feels dead on the string. Get the hair and tension right and the bow does the work for you. That is the whole job.

Your price covers the rehair and fully insured return postage. You just cover sending your bow to us, around £15 by Royal Mail Special Delivery for a bass, and we show you exactly how.

How it works

Book & pay online
Choose double bass and pay online. Then tell us about your bow (French or German, hair preference) and pick the week you’ll post it. We send your posting address, the tube we recommend, and simple instructions.
Post your bow to us
At the Post Office, ask for “Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm.” Fully insured and signed for; keep the receipt as your proof of cover. Bass bows need a longer, sturdier tube, and our packing guide shows exactly how to pack it safely.
We rehair & return
Follow every stage on your tracker. Your bow comes back on our fully insured return label, ready to play.
